Entrepreneurial Inspiration with Celeste Mitchell from www.asseenin.com.au
Coming up with one of those fabulous concepts that you think to yourself ‘why didn’t I think of that!’, editor of TV Hits Magazine Celeste Mitchell thought of it & didn’t waste time launching it. A Blog that features amazing fashion items from magazines, AS SEEN IN then posts daily updates of where you can purchase those same gorgeous style online.
Can you explain AsSeenIn? As seen in fills the gap between finding a fashion item you love in a magazine, and adding that item to your wardrobe. It cancels out painful hours spent hunting down stockists only to find they don't have the colour you wanted, or your size. And it also opens up the retail doors to those who live in areas where certain stores are not nearby, or certain labels are not stocked. Each day I profile individual items from one of the latest mags and track down an online retailer to link to. Subscribers to the newsletter then have a simple purchase tool delivered to their inbox every morning, saving them time, and hopefully giving them a little fashion inspiration, too.
Can you remember the moment or how you came up with the idea? I'm obsessed with magazines and am constantly flicking through them for work, and I found I always had a wish list from each issue, but I never ended up finding any of the items I loved when I hit the shops. So, I decided to do something about it - to provide a service for anyone else feeling the same way, and bring the fashion from the magazines to you. I bought the domain name 18 months ago, finally found the time to work on my business plan late last year and launched in February!
What is the process you go through to create each post? Every week I go through all the new issues and tag everything that catches my eye, scan all the pages and file. I then set about hunting down each item through an online retailer, making sure they have it in stock, and that it's the exact match for the item in the magazine. I also spend a fair bit of time keeping an eye on the new stock coming in at each online store, and researching new stockists, too. What Winter 09 trend advice do you have? It seems like anything goes this season and there's never been a better time to let your individual style shine. I'm loving the wide spectrum of trends, like embellished jackets, faux fur and sequins mixed with distressed denim and lace.
Any personal favourite item you've found in a magazine that you'll be purchasing yourself for winter?I'm saving up for Lucette's military jacket as seen in Marie Claire, Cosmo and several other mags! And I've also got my eye on the This is Genevieve sequin jacket as seen in Cosmo.Who are you personal celebrity style icons (past or present) I love how Kate Hudson and Nicole Richie always exude that relaxed hippie style, even in their glam red carpet looks. And I've been a long-time fan of Gwen Stefani, too. What other websites do you visit on a daily basis?

All the online stores you can think of and of course, facebook and twitter!Any advice for budding entrepreneurs? Find the time to let your ideas flourish. The greatest inspiration can start from the smallest flicker of imagination. And then research, research, research! I'm still learning as I go but it's amazing how much information you pick up along the journey.
